In line with the Department of Labor’s vision for America's Labor Market Information System, CareerOneStop, is a collection of electronic tools, operating as a federal-state partnership, and funded by grants to states.
Occupational Outlook Handbook--From the US Department of Labor Statistics, the Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives. Revised every two years, the Handbook describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects in a wide range of occupations.
Careers.Org--Use Careers.Org to search for jobs by occupational field, state, province or country. Find jobs with government or listed on state job service websites. Investigate job opportunities posted in internet newsgroups or newspaper classified ads. Check out part-time, temporary, seasonal, freelance, consulting or contract employment. O*NET Online--The Occupational Information Network - O*NETTM database takes the place of the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) as the nation's primary source of occupational information. The O*NET database and related products will help millions of employers, workers, educators, and students make informed decisions about education, training, career choices, and work. The O*NET Project is administered and sponsored by the US Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration.
The Princeton Review--Pubishers of career and college information, the Princton Review's Career and Internship Search Site looks at specific careers, links them to colleges and majors of choice. It gives basic facts about the career as well.
