Hello Patriot Families,
I hope you have enjoyed your extended weekend in observance of Labor Day. Your Weekly Patriot includes reminders for our school routines.
Arrival/Dismissal Reminders: In partnership with the Morehead City Police Department, we continue to support communicating and supervising safe traffic patterns. Please ensure that you follow carpool traffic flow directions.
Afternoon carpool entry is from Westbound Country Club to turn right into the school carpool line.
Please allow for two lanes of egress from the parking lot at dismissal. Also please maximize our carpool line by pulling as far as you safely can to the next car.
We are also working to keep parking spaces near the tennis courts available for parents meeting their students there, helping reduce overflow onto Country Club Rd.
Bus Transportation Reminders: Thank you for your patience as we work to get additional staff licensed to drive buses.This week’s bus updates include:
Bus 280 will operate as a double or split route Tuesday through Friday, and Bus 254 will operate as a double or split route Wednesday through Friday.
Students who ride Bus 254 or 280 should report directly to Room 811 at dismissal to check in. At 2:45, we will review the number of students needing transportation. When space is available, students will be assigned to alternate buses. If we are unable to split the route, students will remain supervised in Room 811, where they can work on assignments until the double route begins at approximately 4:15 PM.
Bus 280 update: Beginning Wednesday, September 10th, Bus 280 will not have a morning driver for at least two weeks. Our transportation team is working to divide these stops among other morning routes when possible. This may also require a double route. Bus 280 families will receive additional information on Tuesday regarding the morning transportation plan.
Finally, if you are able to pick up your student during this temporary driver shortage, we would greatly appreciate your support. Our new drivers are working toward obtaining their CDLs so that we can return to normal routes as soon as possible.
Chromebook Distribution: Thank you for your diligence in the completion of online forms, which has been extended until September 18. On Thursday, every student who still lacked a Chromebook was given a paper copy of the technology form to expedite this process. Once the Technology form and fee are paid, students are issued Chromebooks.
Immunization reminder: Nurse Missy Savage has contacted Seniors who are in need of immunization records for the MCV A requirement. If you received an email or letter please submit documentation to her to meet this requirement.

📝 Bringing a Guest? Guest Forms Due September 4!
If you plan to bring a guest who is not a WCHS student, you must complete a Homecoming Guest Form. Guest forms are available: Online or in the WCHS Library.
Completed forms are due Friday, September 4. You may turn your form in to me (Mrs. Mayo) in the library or submit it to me via email.
Before submitting your form, make sure:
ALL required signatures are included.
You include a copy of your guest’s driver’s license or permit, if applicable.
The form is completely filled out. Incomplete or late forms may not be approved.
🎟️ Homecoming Tickets – September 14–25
ALL Homecoming tickets will be sold through GoFan from September 14 through September 25.
WCHS Student Tickets: $20
WCHS students will use their student ID number to access and purchase a ticket through GoFan.
Guest Tickets: $25
Students with an approved guest form will be able to purchase a guest ticket during the ticket sales window. Once your form is approved, you will receive a guest code to use via email.
Remember: Submitting a guest form does not purchase your guest's ticket. You will still need to purchase the $25 guest ticket through GoFan once ticket sales begin.

We had a fantastic first week of school. We met each class in grade level assemblies to review the expectations that exemplify our Patriot Pride while providing guidance for the path ahead. Our students organized an epic Pep Rally and carried that energy to the East as we retained the Mullet Bucket on Friday night!
Students will report to their first period and be on a regular schedule this week.
As we enter routines in the school building, please note a few important reminders for smooth arrival and dismissal. In partnership with the Morehead City Police Department, we continue to support communicating and supervising safe traffic patterns.

Juniors and Seniors met with our Jostens rep yesterday! Get your rings and graduation supplies ordered NOW! Seniors, especially, the cap & gown unit is required for graduation and the price increases as time goes on. Rings can be ordered by juniors or seniors. 📣 SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: PSAT SIGN-UPS OUT TODAY! West Carteret students who are interested in taking the PSAT, check your CCPS student email. The PSAT is optional and will be given during the school day on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Sophomores: The cost is $20, and your payment must be received before registration closes on September 4. Juniors: You are eligible to take the PSAT FREE of charge!

This year we're completing our annual information updates and required documents ONLINE through Infinite Campus, the same platform that allows you to access your student's attendance, schedule, grades, and more.
