I am honored to begin my first year as principal of West Carteret High School.  I served the previous two years in Carteret County Public Schools as principal of Marine Science and Technologies High School (MaST).  I have over 22 years of experience as an educator in North Carolina and the Fort Mill School District in South Carolina.   I previously served as a social studies teacher prior to transitioning to school administration.  I am a native of Iredell County, North Carolina and hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from North Carolina State University and Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University.

I am excited to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff and families of West Carteret High School.  It is an honor to join the Patriot family.

I started my education career in 2001 teaching 3rd grade in Rockingham County and coaching middle school soccer and volleyball. After 7 years in elementary school, gaining math certifications and a Master's in Math education, I moved to Rockingham County High School to teach math and coach varsity soccer and volleyball for 5 years.

In the summer of 2013, I moved my family to Carteret County, where I taught math at East Carteret High School and received a Master's in school administration. In 2017, to have experience at all levels, I moved to Beaufort Middle School to teach 8th-grade math and Math 1 and build their soccer program. In January 2018, I accepted a position at WCHS as an Assistant Principal. Looking forward to this upcoming year. Go Patriots!
