Hello Patriot Families,
We had a fantastic first week of school. We met each class in grade level assemblies to review the expectations that exemplify our Patriot Pride while providing guidance for the path ahead. Our students organized an epic Pep Rally and carried that energy to the East as we retained the Mullet Bucket on Friday night!
Students will report to their first period and be on a regular schedule this week.
As we enter routines in the school building, please note a few important reminders for smooth arrival and dismissal. In partnership with the Morehead City Police Department, we continue to support communicating and supervising safe traffic patterns.
Arrival/Dismissal Reminders: Please ensure that you follow carpool traffic flow directions.
The safest and preferred entry to our carpool lot is from Westbound Country Club to turn right into the school carpool line.
Please allow for two lanes of egress from the parking lot at dismissal. There is only a single lane entrance that opens into two lanes close to the tennis courts.
Please maximize our carpool line by pulling as far as you safely can to the next car.
We are also working to keep parking spaces near the entrance and tennis courts available for parents meeting their students there, helping reduce overflow onto Country Club Rd. Please follow the normal traffic flow and do not drive against traffic in the parking lot.
Bus Transportation Reminders:
Thank you for your patience as we work to get additional staff licensed to drive buses.This week's bus updates include:
Bus 280 will be a double route every afternoon, Monday through Friday. Bus 254 will be a double route on Friday, September 4th. All morning routes are covered as usual.
In the afternoon, students riding these double routes should report to Room 811 to check in. We anticipate the buses will leave the school around 4:15 PM.
We will also begin our bus form audit this week. All bus riders must have a green bus form on file for this school year. Students without a completed bus form will not be allowed to ride.
Student Drivers please follow all traffic rules and directions.
Student Drivers use the entrance near Athletic fields on Vashti. To support safety, please observe the posted stop sign as you exit the student lot. This will be monitored for traffic violations.
The Bus Entrance is for Busses only.
Chromebook Distribution: Thank you for your diligence in the completion of online forms, and your patience as we verify this process and distribute devices.
Students may receive a device once technology forms are completed in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and the Technology Insurance fee has been paid.
Students are encouraged to bring a screenshot of their insurance payment to help expedite distribution.
Family completion of online forms are approaching 75% and most of these students have received their devices.
Teachers are planning instruction with the understanding that Chromebook distribution will continue over the next several school days, and students will be given grace in consideration of chromebook rollout.

Juniors and Seniors met with our Jostens rep yesterday! Get your rings and graduation supplies ordered NOW! Seniors, especially, the cap & gown unit is required for graduation and the price increases as time goes on. Rings can be ordered by juniors or seniors. 📣 SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: PSAT SIGN-UPS OUT TODAY! West Carteret students who are interested in taking the PSAT, check your CCPS student email. The PSAT is optional and will be given during the school day on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Sophomores: The cost is $20, and your payment must be received before registration closes on September 4. Juniors: You are eligible to take the PSAT FREE of charge!

Infinite Campus Parent Portal (online forms): No more backpack-crumpled beginning of the year packets! This year we're completing our annual information updates and required documents ONLINE through Infinite Campus, the same platform that allows you to access your student's attendance, schedule, grades, and more.
